Missionaries Adrian & Jennifer Fehl witnessed the Gumuz
cutting/hauling over 900 trees, digging, measuring, hammering,
smoothing, sawing, filling, chopping, mixing, carrying, painting,
giving, and praying. Then dedicating the new church building
in Yasow to the glory of God. Weekly attendance is around 500,
and the building holds 800-1,000. These Gumuz Christians, once
untouched with the Gospel, now permeate their communities with
their changed lives.
Along with leadership training, the Fehls oversee the clinic
-- the cornerstone of our development work in Yasow -- which
serves over 7,000 patients every year (including 100 deliveries)
and is a tangible demonstration of God’s love at work.
Craig & Allison Fowler and Jake & Erin Moore are beginning
evangelism and medical ministry among the unevangelized Gumuz
people who live farther out from the towns and villages along
the Nile and Blue Nile rivers to bring hope to these long neglected
people.
A combination Bible college/conference center in Kiramu provides
a place for Oromo Christians to come for intensive training
and times of fellowship. Steve & Doretha Limiero oversee
this valuable ministry. Missionary teachers placed at a local
high school have opened additional doors for evangelism and
discipleship.

The “soccer boys” were once a rag-tag bunch of street
boys in Addis Ababa, until Shelly Hilvety sponsored them through
the sports program at a local church. Not only are they a good
soccer team, but almost all have accepted Christ as Savior and
participate in the church. Shelly also works with the church’s
Community Health Evangelism program, an integrated ministry
using Christ’s example of caring for the whole individual
of any community, both physically and spiritually. Perhaps you’d
like to hear the story about the abundance of tomatoes grown
in bag gardens throughout a slum community.
Also in the capital city of Addis, David & Marsha Van Wagenen
are teaching cell church principles and discipling leaders toward
launching a movement of rapidly multiplying cell-church groups,
which is facilitated through the Kristos Andinet church. Erica
Carson teaches and ministers to the children of Bingham Academy,
as well as to the street children outside the walls of the school.
Amanda Rose Vickery recently joined the ministry at Bingham Academy.
