Kiamaiko
About 70,000 people from the Borana and Somalis tribes of northeastern Kenya, the Kikuyu of central Kenya, and the Kamba of eastern Kenya live in the three-square kilometer area known as Kiamaiko. The main occupations for the residents are small businesses and the slaughter and sale of goat meat. The people live in tin and mud houses.
People who are living with HIV/AIDS in this area meet with a group from Madoya. The main challenges are inconsistent attendance and a dependent attitude.
The goals for CHE (Community Health Evangelism) in this village are to start development projects and to train the Community Health Evangelists who will reach out to the families. The local committee is in the training stage.
