Hope Partnership Update
December 2011 Update

Wallace and Mary Kamau and the staff of Missions of Hope International (MoHI) celebrate the great things God has done in 2011 and look forward to ever greater things in 2012. There are currently 6,353 pupils in the school programs and 390 staff members.
Joska School
The fish ponds built at Joska this year are performing well, with a good harvest of tilapia expected in early 2012. Not only will this be a sustainable source of food for the school but it will also expand the skills-training opportunities for the students.
Construction has begun on a second Joska campus that will separate the boys and girls. It is hoped that the separation will motivate and challenge the girls to work harder and aim to be at the top of their classes. This also sets the stage for a huge undertaking — the MoHI High School– that will begin in February 2012 with the most recent candidates who took the Class 8 exam and students from the former School of Achievers.
Business Development Services (BDS)
The microfinance team leaders are currently serving 1,514 active loan clients. Thirty women recently graduated from the sewing skills program. MoHI hopes to increase the skills training program to include high school graduates who do not qualify for University educations.
Churches
A new church opened in Baba Ndogo in October. There are now a total of six Outreach Hope churches. The three CHE (Community Health Evangelism) Bible studies in Mathare North, 4A and Kiamaiko are working toward organization as official churches.
