Study Abroad
Globalscope ministries around the world need students to help them keep their focus on students. Our Study Abroad program is your opportunity to
Enroll in courses at a foreign campus that is the focus of a Globalscope campus ministry. Courses in language and culture are often part of the curriculum, as well as other classes for credit toward your degree.
Participate in extracurricular activities that provide time to build relationships with students. There are opportunities through intramural or varsity sports, art or dance classes, teaching English, and working on community projects.
Build the campus ministry by serving. Develop relationships, lead small groups, assist the worship band, help with outreach, make video announcements, fix computers, wash dishes, cook, do maintenance, and lots more.
Immerse yourself in a new culture and language to increase your learning and help you feel more at home. Live with host families or in the dorms. Many national families have hosted study abroad students before. Or, dorm life is a great way to form friendships.
Grow in personal and spiritual discipline. Study Abroad teams meet weekly for study, worship, and prayer (in English) to help you grow as individuals and as a team.
You can be part of a campus ministry that will change lives – including yours – forever.
Cost
The cost of being an exchange student is comparable to current education costs. The approximate cost per semester (5 months) to study abroad varies between $6,000 and $8,000 according to which university is chosen. The cost includes: passport/visa fees, immunizations, housing, airfare, tuition, transportation, meals, and additional personal costs. An itemized list of expenses for your location will be provided when you have completed your Globalscope Preliminary Study Abroad Application.
It is important to consult with your university’s Study Abroad office for any information on financial aid or scholarships that may be given to study abroad students.
Amanda Kepfer would be happy to provide you with more information about our Globalscope Study Abroad program.
