Transforming Lives & Communities

Marketplace Ministries

Many countries have closed their doors to missionaries and traditional mission methods for political, religious, or social reasons. CMF has found that professionals are the key for entry – whether short-term or long-term. Professionals are invited by many governments to bring their skills and expertise to meet needs in those countries. These professionals become a working witness to God’s grace in the world’s marketplaces where there is no witness.

p_mm1In many closed and some open countries in Asia, our Marketplace Ministries exist to further the cause of Christ. We develop opportunities for professionals to go and function in their areas of expertise and, at the same time, take the message of salvation to a lost and dying world.

We have spent well over a decade researching and implementing ways to make an impact in closed and resistant countries where traditional missions is rejected for one reason or another. Marketplace ministry might be professionals teaching English, fine arts, business, or nursing. It might be doctors in a clinic, even an entrepreneur jump-starting a small business, an engineer improving factory output. Marketplace workers bring their knowledge and expertise to those places that need and welcome them, while being salt and light in their workplace and relationships.

We enter some countries to meet social and economic needs with strategies that produce amazing results. For example, through Community Health Evangelism – a strategy infused with spiritual principles – whole communities are transformed. Through hope found only in Christ, individuals and communities become positive, integral parts of their society’s marketplace through the skills and opportunities gained.
