Great Britain
The CMF-Great Britain team desires to plant 10 churches by 2010, and create a training center for church planters. The team has successfully planted churches in Northampton, Worcester, and Dickens Heath, as well as assisting struggling British Church of Christ churches.
In Worcester, a beautiful old city of about 100,000 people, less than 3% of the population attends church. One church has been successfully planted so far. We are concentrating on building relationships and networking with other organizations to focus on the 18- to 35-year-olds for a café church that will be relevant to their lives.
In Solihull, team members are beginning a network of home-based churches called thethirdplace to “develop people as apprentices of Jesus, living out Kingdom of God values, and keeping it all simple and reproducible.”
A rail center in the Midlands, Nottingham is part of the fastest growing region of the UK and needs new churches. While building relationships in the community, our ministry efforts among the youth are resulting in the beginnings of a new church plant.
We will begin church-planting efforts in Rugby, England, in 2010.
In October 2007, our new Globalscope team arrived in England to begin ministry at the University of Birmingham called Canvas. Exchange students and interns from the USA and around the world join them each semester to provide a greater network. The Globalscope-England team desires to create a community of love and comfort that will draw university students together and to Jesus Christ.
