Canvas Birmingham: Looking forward with hope!

Life is looking a little brighter in England these days, and the Canvas Birmingham campus ministry team is more than ready to begin meeting with students in real life again.

“We are so excited about the gradual lifting of pandemic restrictions in the U.K.” said team leader Tom Gallant. “We’ve finally been allowed to meet in groups of six or less in our garden, which has been such a blessing.”

Recently, the team was able to finally meet together in person to plan the spring term.

“Although government restrictions can change at a days’ notice, we have put some plans in place to finish this year well with our core students to show them how loved they are by Jesus and by us!” said Tom.

The team plans to open the outside space at Canvas for students to come and hang out, hopefully in the sun, and carry on with other online studies and events.

“Then on Fridays, we will do something spontaneous and fun outdoors with up to five students,” said Tom.

“Like all of us, they have essentially missed out on a year of socializing and interacting with one another,” he added. “We want to create some fun and excitement for them and provide opportunities for friendships to deepen!”
