Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Alan Ahlgrim

With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Alan Ahlgrim, a cherished friend of CMF, who passed away last week after a brief illness. Alan was a passionate champion of our mission, a dedicated member of our Board, and a beloved figure among our missionaries, staff, partners, and fellow board members.

As the founding pastor of Rocky Mountain Christian Church in Colorado, Alan faithfully led the congregation for nearly 30 years. Under his leadership, the church became a vital partner in global missions, supporting numerous CMF missionaries and ministries. Alan’s 17 years of service on the CMF Board were marked by his unwavering commitment to equipping leaders, planting churches, and inspiring others with his vision for transformative ministry. His legacy lives on through his family, as his son-in-law, Drew Depler, also served on the CMF Board, and Drew’s son, Joel, was a REACH intern with us.

Alan’s deep compassion and wisdom touched many lives, particularly those facing personal and spiritual struggles. Through his work with Blessing Ranch and Covenant Connections for Pastors, which he founded and served as Chief Soul Care Officer, he provided much-needed guidance and encouragement to countless leaders, CMF missionaries among them.

Kip Lines, CMF Executive Director, shared, “We are praying for Linda, his family, and the many who are mourning his loss. And while we will miss his wisdom, his laughter, and his friendship, we hold onto the hope we share in Christ that one day we will hear that joyful laugh again.”

A memorial service celebrating Alan’s life will be held at Rocky Mountain Christian Church on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 1:30 PM (MST), and will be livestreamed at https://rocky.church/alan/.

Alan’s impact on CMF and the ministries he supported will be felt for generations to come. His mentorship, leadership, and unwavering friendship have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. While we grieve his passing, we also give thanks for a life well-lived in faithful service to God and others.
