Holistic ministries lead to successful church planting in Turkana, Kenya
More than 100 women in Turkana, Kenya, have been trained and equipped in feminine hygiene health over the past months through the Days for Girls programs led by CMF team members Rachel Williams and Cait Pitts.
The last three trainings have been coordinated in communities where the Discovery Bible Studies are making the largest impact, with amazing results.
“This small community of disciple-makers have reached more than 2,000 people with the gospel and planted four new churches in the last three years through the replication of our disciple-making initiatives and DBS,” said Joel Williams, who coordinates the DBS studies. “The DBS are key to opening the door for CMF to bring irrigated farms and community health trainings into those areas, as well.”
The combination of DBS, Days for Girls and disciple-making initiatives has proven to be a successful strategy for reaching Turkana communities.
“This is a perfect picture of the holistic nature of disciple-making and how all of CMF’s different programs collaborate to transform lives and communities,” said Joel.
