First participant’s experience in Exchange Church Catalyst
Parker Habermehl is a senior at Ozark Christian College getting a degree in Biblical Communications with a minor in Organizational Leadership. He is from Roanoke, Texas, and feels called to serve in full-time ministry after graduation. He has spent his spring semester of 2023 in Mexico City, Mexico, serving with the Church Catalyst team in their various ministries. This semester, Parker has worked with urban poor in the south of the city, visiting homes and helping with a men's bible study. He has also worked with a house church plant in the north of the city, helping to disciple several of the youth. He has also taught English to kids in various places around the city.
This was all part of the recently launched Exchange Church Catalyst program in Mexico City, where students can come, study their normal coursework from their university online, and participate in exciting ministry opportunities at the same time. Through this program, students can pursue becoming the person God is calling them to be, learn practical tools on a ministry team, and practice using these tools, all in a beautiful city.
