From Seeds to Service: The Ospinas Join the Work in Ethiopia
For over 50 years, CMF has partnered with local communities in Ethiopia, planting churches in unreached areas and developing disciples and leaders. At the heart of this mission is holistic ministry, addressing physical, spiritual, and social needs.
Some team members focus on those in poverty, working with children and adults in need, while others help dig wells in remote regions. A budding prison ministry also provides essential resources, like beds, clean water, and electricity, to inmates. Additionally, the team supports Bingham Academy, an international Christian school, by providing teachers and staff who prepare the next generation for servant leadership.
This transformative work is only possible through the dedication of a diverse team and local partners. The good news? New members are preparing to join the work.
Chandler and Madison Ospina’s Calling
Chandler and Madison Ospina are set to move to Ethiopia as CMF missionaries. Chandler, currently a production leader at Compassion Christian Church in Savannah, GA, is developing skills to support the work while studying Christian Ministries. Madison, a teacher pursuing TESOL certification, plans to teach students at Bingham Academy and ensure students have the tools they need to succeed.
Both felt called to missions early in life.
“I was blessed to grow up in a family with deep roots in mission work,” Madison shares. “Seeing the impact across generations planted a seed in my heart.”
Chandler reflects, “As a sixth grader, I went on my first mission trip to Tennessee. That experience gave me a vision for taking the gospel to the nations. It’s a seed that’s grown over time.”
After marrying, their shared passion for missions grew stronger. Now, through the partnership between Compassion Christian and CMF, Chandler and Madison are ready to turn their vision into reality.
Preparing for the Journey
Madison will teach at Bingham Academy, while Chandler will support a ministry focused on training and developing local pastors and leaders. Before they can join the work in Ethiopia, they have the daunting, but rewarding task of raising up the prayer and financial partners needed to undergird their ministry.
Chandler recalls, “When I was in sixth grade, raising $350 for a trip felt impossible. But two people believed in me, and their support changed my life. It’s humbling to invite others to join in this journey and make an eternal impact.”
The Ospinas, like all CMF missionaries, hope to inspire others to become part of spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth.
