Kenyan woman develops ‘Days for Girls’ business
Rachel Williams and Cait Pitts, CMF team members in Kenya, continue to see great progress in the Days for Girls women’s health team and its first DfG enterprise owner, Selina.
“Selina started a business sewing and selling menstrual hygiene kits for girls so that they can stay in school,” said Rachel. “This past month, we hosted a business training for her so she could learn essential financial and record keeping skills.”
The teacher for the training is a Kenyan named Aishepe, who is one of Rachel’s disciples, a Discipleship Bible Study facilitator and a successful business owner.
“We were excited to see her collaborate with and mentor Selina,” said Rachel. “Christian businesses transform communities!”
The DfG health and hygiene ministry in Kenya helps young women stay in school and avoid sexual predators. Days for Girls is an international organization that has reached more than one million girls in more than 120 countries by providing increased access to menstrual supplies, care and education.
