Michael Grimm: “I had never considered missions as a potential option for my life”
Michael Grimm is preparing to go to Mexico City to serve with the Church Catalyst team to support the ministries that are already taking place there.
Michael graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a degree in youth ministry and graduated from Aurora University with a master's degree in social work. Though he’s felt a call to youth ministry for some time, Michael says that he had actually never considered missions as a potential option for his life. However, a big part of his calling to youth ministry is discipleship, and Michael says that he is open to how God would use this in the ministries that he will be serving with in Mexico City.
Michael will be assisting the Church Catalyst team to help facilitate CMF’s Exchange program, a ministry for young adults to discover a passion for missions, and the ministries associated with the Community Center established by the team in Mexico City. Michael may also be assisting the Marketplace Ministries team in Mexico City where his fiancé, Olivia Shank, currently serves. Michael says that Olivia was one of the biggest influences in opening his eyes to the possibility of serving through overseas missions.
“There have been many other people in my ministry journey, and even in my walk with Christ, who have supported me and shown me how important missions is, whether that is in your own community and context, or overseas.”
However it develops, Michael is excited to serve in new ways through ministry in Mexico City.
