Otto McFarland will serve with Globalscope in Valencia, Spain!
Otto McFarland studied music education in university and fully planned on becoming a music teacher after graduation before feeling a call toward missions in his last semester. After discussing this with professors and the Director of Globalscope, he decided that he wanted to pursue international campus ministry.
He is currently raising support to join the team in Valencia, Spain. Otto felt a pull toward serving in a country that was not primarily English-speaking to push him out of his comfort zone and experience a different way of life, and the Valencia Globalscope team happened to need someone with a music background, so this was a great fit. Otto is excited to get plugged in with university students in Valencia, learn Spanish, and get involved in the arts community there.
Otto had a background with campus ministry in the United States and says that he thinks that besides the great differences in culture, at the heart of all campus ministry is a passion for “loving people and getting a community of believers together, helping each other grow and become more authentic and dive deeper into God’s love.”
