Providing Medical Care in Jesus’ Name

In what has become an annual tradition, a medical team spent part of their summer serving the Maasai area of Kenya where CMF has had a long ministry resulting in a renowned clinic system and hundreds of churches planted.

There was a full team of 15 participants, 9 medical and 6 non-medical. The medical folks worked in the Community Health Partners (CHP) Maasai clinics and conducted mobile village clinics. The non-medical folks worked with the Narok Community Christian Church. A retired pastor and his wife on the team organized a requested training for pastors and a VBS for the children of the church-sponsored school. It was a busy and exciting trip!

Here are some highlights in photos:

700+ patients were seen and treated during two days at the CHP Ewaso Ngiro clinic and three days doing mobile clinics in remote village locations. Praying for each patient was a highlight for the team.

HPV vaccinations were given to all the girls in three remote schools (boys will be included in the next phase of vaccine roll-out). Greeting the school children included songs and a bit of play time too!

Despite wet and challenging road conditions, the team traveled safely to three remote village areas, and their vehicle was NOT the one that got stuck in the mud! (They helped pull out the stranded car.)

Training sessions for pastors and church leaders at the Narok Community Christian Church, including both men and women’s groups, were very well-received.

Dr. Suzie Snyder, former CMF missionary to Kenya, regularly co-leads these medical trips to Kenya with her husband. She said, “For me, providing medical care in Jesus' name is simply the best job on the planet!”

As always, trips like this are made possible through the care, prayers, and logistical support of faithful partners and are staffed by people like you, willing to be a part of God’s global mission. We are so very grateful the team had the chance to serve God once again in Kenya!
