Summer 2025 Will Be BIG for REACH!
REACH internships are an opportunity for young people to see and experience life and ministry on the mission field firsthand and it’s been a part of CMF’s work for over 30 years. Why is an internship program such an integral part of what we do? Two reasons!
Why REACH?
Having a cross-cultural experience, especially as a college student, can be life changing. REACH internships are a time to learn, grow, and build relationships that transcend borders. It is a chance to dive into intercultural ministry with a CMF team and make a lasting global impact. REACH connects participants to diverse ministry opportunities in areas like healthcare, social work, business, church planting, engineering, teaching, and more!
A REACH internship is also an opportunity evaluate one’s fit for future ministry. Interns are hands-on participants in ministry as they experience the culture, live with and spend time with locals while being mentored by experienced CMF missionaries. And if you are around CMF for any length of time, you will quickly realize how many missionaries served with REACH before serving long-term. Roughly one-third of the organization have been interns.
Bethany Rivera, CMF’s Director of Mobilization, served through REACH in 2008, and Keila Palmquist, CMF’s Internship Coordinator, served in 2022. From sent to sending, Bethany and Keila love mobilizing others to serve and transform the world with CMF ministries, starting with internships.
REACH 2025 – The Largest Cohort Yet!
What began with four interns, REACH has grown over the years to include an average of 25-30 interns per summer. This year, we are excited to celebrate the incredible opportunity to send 58 REACH interns to 12 different countries, including seven international interns from outside the United States!
What has accounted for this growth? It is hard to point to one reason alone! Bethany and Keila prayed for God to move in a supernatural way in 2025 by bringing passionate, capable, and earnest interns to REACH. They asked, "Lord, make it undeniable that You are the one orchestrating this—so we can see Your hand at work in every step." And He did!
Our whole CMF team remains in awe of some of the incredible ways we have seen God moving. Through partner ministries like Georgia Tech CCF recruiting and sending out seven interns to serve or a new REACH partnership with Remember the Children in Romania, God has been in every detail of REACH 2025.
What is Next?
