On university campuses around the world, CMF provides Christian communities for students who, very often, are not Christian. Our Globalscope campus ministries are unique in that Christians, atheists, agnostics and anyone in between can find community together. Their time spent as part of a Globalscope ministry, a community centered on the love of God, is life changing.
Philip Linkous describes his experience at Christian Campus Fellowship while a student at Georgia Tech as “coming back to Jesus, growing in my faith and wanting to give back.” The mechanical engineering graduate was recruited to serve with Globalscope’s campus ministry in Santiago, Chile, and joined the team in 2010.
Ruben Coliman first met Jesus and became a Christian at El Oasis in Santiago, Chile. Now he wants to return to Santiago to share God’s love with other students.
What do you do when you put together 50 “Welcome back to El Oasis” kits for the students in your ministry, but hardly anyone signs up to get one?
Mission trips with her family and church helped develop Lauren Egleston’s interest in missions from an early age, and her involvement with The Table campus ministry during college has prepared her to serve with the El Oasis campus ministry in Santiago, Chile.
Stephanie recently concluded her service as a Globalscope campus minister in Santiago, Chile, and admits that the transition during the pandemic was a difficult one.
Allison previously served as an exchange intern with this ministry in Santiago and now she can’t wait to go back long-term to use her degree in Spanish and enjoy the relational, open and welcoming culture of Chile. She also hopes to share her love of rock-climbing with students and draw them into the El Oasis Christian community.
The end-of-year banquet at the Globalscope El Oasis campus ministry in Santiago, Chile, honored 20 graduates from the ministry, but also included a send-off for the team that will plant a new El Oasis community in 2020.
