Wells in Aygali offer good health, living water
Planting churches and training church leaders are twin passions for long-time CMF missionaries Craig and Allison Fowler, but the couple uses holistic methods to gain a voice with people living in the remote villages of Ethiopia.
Allison, a missionary and nurse, recently returned with her family to the village of Aygali, where they lived and ran a small clinic for 10 years, planted 23 churches and drilled six wells.
The wells provide clean water for 500 people every day, protecting them from the many diseases related to unclean water sources.
But as Allison says, “We dig wells not just to quench thirst, but to open hearts and ears to this simple truth: Jesus is the living water, the way, the truth, the life.
“Through these water projects, we continue together to plant churches, introduce people to Jesus and provide a better life for thousands of people living in these remote villages in western Ethiopia.”
